💡 When do we use the Dative?
1. Indirect Object
It answers "wem?" (to whom?)
Ich gebe dem Kind einen Ball.
I give the child a ball.
→ Wem gebe ich den Ball? → Dem Kind.
To whom do I give the ball? To the child.
🎯 The child (Dem Kind) is Dative (indirect)
The ball (Einen Ball) is Accusative (direct)
