🎯 Just like verbs and nouns, many German adjectives are linked to a fixed preposition and a fixed case: zufrieden mit + Dativ, stolz auf + Akkusativ, abhängig von + Dativ. The preposition here is not a literal translation into English or Arabic — it is part of the construction and must be memorised together with the adjective.

neugierig	auf + Akk	Ich bin neugierig auf das neue Restaurant.	I am curious about the new restaurant.
böse / wütend	auf + Akk	Sie ist noch böse auf ihren Bruder.	She is still angry with her brother.
verliebt	in + Akk	Tom ist in seine Kollegin verliebt.	Tom is in love with his colleague.
freundlich	zu + Dat	Der Chef ist immer freundlich zu allen Mitarbeitern.	The boss is always friendly to all employees.
froh	über + Akk	Ich bin über deine Nachricht sehr froh.	I am very glad about your message.
traurig	über + Akk	Sie ist traurig über das Testergebnis.	She is sad about the test result.
angewiesen	auf + Akk	Im Dorf ist man aufs Auto angewiesen.	In the village you depend on the car.

📌 Note the common contraction: aufs = auf das (Im Dorf ist man aufs Auto angewiesen).

🔍 Three Forms of One Concept — With Different Prepositions!

The example of "interest" shows how the preposition changes with the word type:

Verb	sich interessieren für + Akk	Ich interessiere mich für Kunst.
Noun	das Interesse an + Dat	Mein Interesse an Kunst ist groß.
Adjective	interessiert an + Dat	Ich bin an Kunst interessiert.

💡 Do not try to "translate" the preposition: English says proud of, German says stolz auf, and Arabic uses a different particle too. Learn the adjective and its preposition as one unit — a good dictionary lists both together.

Useful Extras

Comparisons after these constructions work as usual with als/wie: Sie ist genauso stolz auf ihre Tochter wie ich. — Er ist stolzer als sein Bruder.
