The alarm clock rings. Sami gets up early because his work starts early. He eats some bread and drinks a quick coffee, then takes the bus to the restaurant.

🍳 The cook in Cologne

Sami is a cook in a small restaurant in Cologne. The first dish of the day needs time, but at noon he has a short break: salad and cold water. Then he goes back into the kitchen.

Sami ist Koch. Um zwölf Uhr ist Pause. (Sami is a cook. At twelve o'clock there is a break.)

Er isst Salat und trinkt Wasser. (He eats salad and drinks water.)

⚽ Free time at last

At six in the evening the work ends. Sami is happy! He goes to the park and plays football with his friends, and on the weekend he likes going swimming.

Um achtzehn Uhr endet die Arbeit. (At six p.m. (18:00) the work ends.)

Sami spielt gern Fußball. (Sami likes playing football.)

Am Wochenende geht er gern schwimmen. (On the weekend he likes going swimming.)

🌙 A quiet evening

In the evening Sami is tired. He drinks tea and listens to music, and later he goes to bed. Good night, Sami — tomorrow is a new day!
