🎯 Stage Tests — Level A1
Test yourself after every five lessons! The stage tests are measuring points on your learning journey: after completing each range of lessons, take a short test to find out your real level and discover what needs review before you move on.
🗺️ How the System Works
- Level A1 is divided into 4 ranges, each covering 5 lessons from the Kursbuch.
- After finishing each range, take a stage test made up of 15 questions:
- Section 1: Multiple choice (9 questions) — vocabulary, grammar and communication situations.
- Section 2: Fill in the blank (4 questions) — type the missing word yourself.
- Section 3: Matching (2 questions) — match the German word to its meaning.
- Suggested time per test: 20 – 30 minutes, taken in one sitting without going back to the lessons.
- Every test is available in Arabic and English — the same German questions in both versions.
📝 The Four Tests
| # | Test | Covers lessons | Main topics | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Stage Test 1 | 1 – 5 | Greetings and introductions, pronouns and verb conjugation, professions, der/die/das and ein/eine, family and possessives, haben and separable verbs | 25 min |
| 2 | Stage Test 2 | 6 – 10 | Telling time and time prepositions, food, negation and plural, Perfekt, appointments and months, transport and mit | 25 min |
| 3 | Stage Test 3 | 11 – 15 | Local prepositions with Dativ, at the doctor and the human body, war/hatte and the imperative with Sie, vor/nach and sollen, directions and es gibt | 30 min |
| 4 | Stage Test 4 | 16 – 20 | Shopping, prices and Dativ verbs, giving reasons with denn, modal verbs, polite requests and ordinal numbers, fahren and möchten, holidays and greetings | 30 min |
📊 Scoring System
After the automatic check, add up your correct answers from all three sections (out of 15):
| Score | Level | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| 12 – 15 | Excellent 🎉 | Move on confidently to the next range |
| 8 – 11 | Good 💪 | Review the wrong questions and only their related lessons |
| Below 8 | Needs review 📖 | Restudy the whole lesson range, then retake the test |
💡 Tip: Do not take the next test before scoring at least 12/15 on the current one — a solid foundation matters more than speed.
