Amal wohnt in München. Ihre Freundin Clara wohnt in Berlin. Am Samstag fährt Amal mit dem Zug nach Berlin.

(Amal lives in Munich. Her friend Clara lives in Berlin. On Saturday, Amal travels to Berlin by train.)

Um Viertel vor acht ist sie am Bahnhof. Sie kauft eine Fahrkarte nach Berlin. Die Fahrkarte kostet 58 Euro. Der Zug fährt um halb neun von Gleis 7 ab. Amal findet den Bahnsteig schnell. Der Zug ist pünktlich.

(At a quarter to eight she is at the train station. She buys a ticket to Berlin. The ticket costs 58 euros. The train leaves at half past eight from platform 7. Amal finds the platform quickly. The train is on time.)

Im Zug liest Amal ein Buch. Sie schaut auch aus dem Fenster. Die Fahrt dauert ungefähr vier Stunden.

(On the train, Amal reads a book. She also looks out of the window. The trip takes about four hours.)

In Berlin wartet Clara schon auf dem Bahnsteig. „Endlich!", ruft sie. Dann fahren die zwei Freundinnen mit der U-Bahn zu Claras Wohnung.

(In Berlin, Clara is already waiting on the platform. "Finally!", she calls out. Then the two friends take the underground to Clara's flat.)

Am Nachmittag besuchen sie das Brandenburger Tor. Amal macht viele Fotos. Sie sagt: „Berlin ist toll! Ich komme bald wieder."

(In the afternoon they visit the Brandenburg Gate. Amal takes lots of photos. She says: "Berlin is great! I'll come back soon.")
