Karim ist 25 Jahre alt und wohnt in Hamburg. Morgen beginnt sein erster Arbeitstag. Er arbeitet als Koch in einem kleinen Restaurant. Vor einem Jahr hat Karim seine Ausbildung beendet. Jetzt kann er gut kochen.

(Karim is 25 years old and lives in Hamburg. Tomorrow his first day of work begins. He works as a cook in a small restaurant. One year ago, Karim finished his vocational training. Now he can cook well.)

Um halb sieben steht Karim auf. Er frühstückt schnell und fährt mit dem Fahrrad zum Restaurant.

(At half past six, Karim gets up. He eats breakfast quickly and rides his bike to the restaurant.)

Herr Bauer, der Chef, sagt: „Herzlich willkommen, Karim!" Anna und Tim sind die Kollegen von Karim. Anna zeigt ihm die Küche.

(Mr. Bauer, the boss, says: "A warm welcome, Karim!" Anna and Tim are Karim's colleagues. Anna shows him the kitchen.)

Die Arbeit beginnt um sieben Uhr. Karim schält Kartoffeln und schneidet Gemüse. Um zwölf Uhr machen alle Pause. Sie essen zusammen und sprechen viel.

(The work starts at seven o'clock. Karim peels potatoes and cuts vegetables. At twelve o'clock, everybody takes a break. They eat together and talk a lot.)

Um acht Uhr abends ist Feierabend. Karim ist müde, aber sehr glücklich. Er sagt: „Meine Arbeit macht großen Spaß!"

(At eight o'clock in the evening, the workday is over. Karim is tired, but very happy. He says: "My work is great fun!")
