🩺 Welcome! In this lesson you'll learn how to say body parts in German, how to describe pain, and how to talk to a doctor. Very useful if you need a doctor in Germany!

1. 🧍 Body Parts (Körperteile)
The body has many parts. Each part has a gender article (der / die / das). It is very important to memorize the article with the word!

💡 Tip: Body parts that occur as pairs are often feminine (die) — die Hand, die Schulter. But there are exceptions!
2. 🏥 At the Doctor — Useful Phrases (Beim Arzt — Nützliche Sätze)
When you go to the doctor in German, you need to express pain. The most common sentence: "X tut mir weh" = "X hurts me."
How to say "It hurts":

⚠️ Rule: With wehtun we use the Dative case — mir (to me).
Der Kopf tut mir weh. = My head hurts. (Literally: The head hurts me.)
3. 📝 Grammar: haben + Schmerzen + der/mein
3.1 The verb "haben" (to have)
The verb haben changes with each pronoun. Memorize it well — it is one of the most used verbs after "sein."

3.2 mein / meine (Possessive with body parts)
In German, we say "mein Kopf" (my head) or "meine Hand" (my hand). The article determines the form:

Examples: - Mein Kopf tut weh. — My head hurts. - Meine Hand tut weh. — My hand hurts. - Mein Bein tut weh. — My leg hurts. - Meine Zähne tun weh. — My teeth hurt.
🎯 Notice: With die (singular) and with plural we use meine. With der and das we use mein.
