📰 Christmas with the Schneider Family — Weihnachten bei Familie Schneider
How do Germans celebrate Christmas? A little story from December 24th — at A1 level.
Es ist der 24. Dezember. Familie Schneider feiert Weihnachten. Draußen ist es kalt, aber im Haus ist es warm.
(It is December 24th. The Schneider family celebrates Christmas. Outside it is cold, but inside the house it is warm.)
Im Wohnzimmer steht ein schöner Baum. Auf dem Baum sind viele Lichter und Kerzen. Alles ist bunt.
(In the living room there is a beautiful tree. On the tree there are many lights and candles. Everything is colorful.)
Um sechs Uhr kommen Oma und Opa. Sie bringen Kuchen und Geschenke mit. Die ganze Familie singt Weihnachtslieder.
(At six o'clock, Grandma and Grandpa come. They bring cake and presents with them. The whole family sings Christmas songs.)
Dann öffnet Lisa ihr Geschenk. Sie bekommt ein Buch und einen roten Schal. Ihr Bruder Max bekommt einen Ball. Die Kinder sind sehr glücklich. Mama ruft: „Essen ist fertig!" Alle essen Kartoffelsalat und Würstchen.
(Then Lisa opens her present. She gets a book and a red scarf. Her brother Max gets a ball. The children are very happy. Mom calls: "Dinner is ready!" Everybody eats potato salad and sausages.)
Am Ende sitzen alle am Tisch und trinken Tee. Es ist ein ruhiger und schöner Abend. Frohe Weihnachten!
(At the end, everybody sits at the table and drinks tea. It is a calm and lovely evening. Merry Christmas!)
