📚 Core Rules

1️⃣ Verb sein (to be) – linking verb

Person Present (Präsens)
ich bin
du bist
er/sie/es ist
wir sind
ihr seid
sie/Sie sind
  • Use sein to describe a state, identity, profession, location, or time.
  • No object follows; the complement is a noun, adjective, or adverb.

2️⃣ Verb haben (to have) – possession verb

Person Present (Präsens)
ich habe
du hast
er/sie/es hat
wir haben
ihr habt
sie/Sie haben
  • Use haben to express ownership, needs, or as an auxiliary in the perfect tense.

3️⃣ Special verbs (besondere Verben)

Verb Meaning Example
werden become Ich werde müde. — I become tired.
bleiben stay Er bleibt zu Hause. — He stays at home.
gehen go Wir gehen ins Kino. — We go to the cinema.
kommen come Sie kommt aus Berlin. — She comes from Berlin.

These verbs can take Akkusativ or Dativ objects depending on the verb and the sentence.
