✨ The Story

An idea starts in one classroom

Class 7b has a new and exciting idea. The students want to make a podcast for their school. Sami tells his friends:

  • Die Klasse 7b hat eine neue Idee: einen Podcast für die Schule. — Class 7b has a new idea: a podcast for the school.
  • „Ich glaube, dass ein Podcast viele Schüler interessiert“, sagt Sami. — "I believe that a podcast interests many students," says Sami.
  • Jede Woche gibt es eine neue Sendung auf der Website der Schule. — Every week there is a new episode on the school website.

First segment: the weather

The show always begins with the weather report, because the students plan their week around it. Leila reads the news clearly:

  • Immer zuerst kommt der Wetterbericht. — The weather report always comes first.
  • „Morgen ist es sonnig und warm, am Wochenende regnet es“, sagt Leila. — "Tomorrow it will be sunny and warm, at the weekend it will rain," says Leila.
  • Dann fragt sie: „Wisst ihr, ob das Schulfest draußen ist?“ — Then she asks: "Do you know whether the school festival is outdoors?"

An interview with the teacher

After the weather comes a short interview. This time Sami talks to Mrs. Berger, the math teacher, about school and classes:

  • „Welches Fach finden Sie interessant?“, fragt er. — "Which subject do you find interesting?" he asks.
  • „Mathe und Musik, denn ich mag Zahlen und ich singe gern.“ — "Math and music, because I like numbers and I like singing."
  • Viele Schüler sagen, dass die Hausaufgaben zu viel Zeit kosten. — Many students say that homework takes too much time.

Fast success

The little podcast becomes successful faster than anyone expected. On the very first day more than a hundred students listened to it, and messages arrived from other classes:

  • Der Podcast ist schnell beliebt. — The podcast quickly becomes popular.
  • Am ersten Tag hören ihn 120 Schüler. — On the first day, 120 students listen to it.
  • Kinder aus anderen Klassen schreiben: „Macht bitte eine Sendung über Filme!“ — Children from other classes write: "Please make an episode about movies!"
  • Sami lacht: „Das ist unsere nächste Idee.“ — Sami laughs: "That is our next idea."
