📚 Core Rule

A double conjunction consists of two parts that must appear together in the correct order. The first part introduces the first element, the second part introduces the second element.

Type Conjunction Translation
Coordinating sowohl ... als auch "both ... and"
Coordinating (contrast) nicht nur ... sondern auch "not only ... but also"
Choice entweder ... oder "either ... or"
Negation weder ... noch "neither ... nor"
